    About Us

The vision of Child Evangelism Fellowship is to give every boy and girl an opportunity to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to know the Lord Jesus in a personal way. We have two key ministries: Good News Club ® is run during the school year and 5-Day Club® is run during the summer. Along with those ministries we have added other ministries such as children's rallies, Day Camps, Vacation Bible Schools, Fair ministries, and others. To carry out these programs we have training provided for volunteers who teach and lead. Training is provided for Good News Club workers throughout the year. Once a year a Christian Youth In Action™ (CYIA) training school is held for teenagers and young adults.

Child Evangelism Fellowship of Central Maine is a local chapter of Child Evangelism Fellowship of Maine Inc.. Our mission is to bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the boys and girls of the Knox, Waldo, Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Somerset counties. All personnel agree annually to teach the truths of the CEF Statement of Faith to the boys and girls.
The Central Maine ministry is overseen by a committee which is made up of: Mr. & Mrs. Gerald Blodgett, Miss Priscilla Dean, Reverend & Mrs. Gerald Gabriele, Mr. & Mrs. Russell Lowe, Betty Pratt, and Pastor & Mrs Gil Reed. The staff members are Jeanette Linsey (director), Brad Walker, Karen Partridge, Jonathan Dowdy.

    Our Committee

The local chapter is governed by a committee of people concerned with the souls of children. It functions under CEF of Maine Inc, and is the official body responsible for the work of the fellowship in Knox, Waldo, Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Somerset counties. The local directer and staff report on a regular basis to the committee.

    Our Staff

Jeanette Linsey is originally from Vancouver, BC, but she has been the local director for CEF® of Central Maine since 1977. She is responsible for the work in all five Central Maine counties and seeks to sustain and develop the work through regular training meetings for Good News Club® volunteers. She also handles most of the administrative details of the work including mailings, scheduling, and contacting new volunteers. It is her spiritual vision and faithfulness that the Lord has used to establish and grow the work in Central Maine during the past 30 years

Brad Walker has been working with the Central Maine Chapter of CEF for 11 years. He is responsible for teacher training and Good News Club ministry in the Greater Bangor area. He provides leadership for the Hermon property and its development as a day camp site. In the summer, Brad directs the River of Life Bible Camp in Maxfield, Maine in partnership with CEF. Brad, his wife, Alecia, and their children live in Hermon at the Central Maine headquarters.

Karen Partridge was introduced to CEF as a child in Good News Club and as a teenager in summer work. She completed her CEF training at the International Headquarters and was accepted as a full-time worker in 2003. During the school year she is very active in the Good News Club program, teaching three clubs, and assisting with teacher training meetings. In the summer months, she trains the young people at CYIA™, and assists with Camp Jireh located in Hermon. Her husband, John, teaches in a Christian high school and in the summer is very involved with Camp Jireh and fair ministry.

Jonathan Dowdy and his wife, Ann, have worked with the summer Day Camp program since 2003. In 2007 Jonathan came on as full-time staff. The Dowdys are involved in teaching Good News Clubs and teacher training in Waldo & Knox counties and general upkeep on the Hermon property. Jon and Ann head up the Traveling Day Camp in the summer, and Jon has begun overseeing the fair ministry.

Francis Mahon is volunteering as property manager and is responsible for the upkeep and development of the office and Camp Jireh. We are grateful for his involvement, since Larry had to release his responsibilities.
