Some years ago we sensed a need to spend more time with children than the 5-Day Club program allowed.
We began to hold Day Camps where the children arrive mid-morning and stay until mid-afternoon.
The added time accommodates extra activities in sports and crafts, as well as, extended teaching times.
The children are divided into teams with adult and teenage counselors.
The close interaction with the team counselors allow good relationships to develop and mentoring in both spiritual and social skills.
We have come to have two Day Camp programs.
The first program, the Traveling Day Camp, makes use of a team of 5 or 6 young people that travel from town to town to hold camp in conjuction with a local church or other Christian organization.
More recently, since CEF of Central Maine has property in Hermon, we have Camp Jireh, an on-site Day Camp program.
